Sunrise from the summit (3:50 am, 7/8/2010)

The moment of sunrise is the most beautiful time.

There are four major routes from the fifth station to the summit with an additional four routes from the foot of the mountain. The major routes from the fifth station are (clockwise) the Lake Kawaguchi, Subashiri, Gotemba and Fujinomiya routes. Our start point was the fifth station and climbing through the Kawaguchi route. we arrived to 5th station at 7:30pm (above the clouds).

Climbing to Mt. Fuji (Fuji San)

Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776 m . It is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" . An active stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707–08, Mount Fuji is just west of Tokyo, and can be seen from there on a clear day. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone is a well-known symbol of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photographs, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.
